Check out how our students are leading active, healthy lives outside of school! Maggie has been a student at ATA Karate in Burnsville for 2 years. She has worked through all the belt levels (white, orange, yellow, camo, green, blue, purple, brown, and red) and tested for her black belt on September 23. Karate helps students achieve fitness and also builds character traits such as integrity and perseverance. The requirements for the black belt test included a 1 hour commitment work out including running, pushups, sit ups, and kick and punch combos. She then continued with sparring, forms, a fit test, self-defense, and interview regarding what being a black belt means to her and her goals moving forward. We are so proud of all of her hard work and the great accomplishment of earning a black belt in karate.
